Block 4 is a colourful one! Start by laying out the pieces according to their sizes (smallest to biggest to smallest) and marking the center of one of the smallest pieces and the piece adjacent to it:
Sew the pieces, right sides together, lining up the center marks. Then mark the center of the next piece:
Sew this piece on next, lining up the center marks. Then mark the center of the next piece:
Sew the next piece on, lining up the center marks. Then mark the center of the next piece:
Sew this piece on next, lining up the center marks. Then mark the center of the next piece. Repeat until all the pieces have been sewn together:
Trim to a 15.5″ x 15.5″ square (I used a square ruler lining up the diagonal line down the center of the center piece and trimmed off the minimal amount):
Just like that, Block 4 is complete:
