Block 8 is another example of how plans on paper don’t always work out exactly as expected but with small modifications, I was able to achieve the design I wanted.
Start by laying out three triangles in matching fabric with grey triangles in between:
Sew the triangles together in pairs:
Continue sewing pieces together until you have a strip of triangles. Repeat with the second set of triangles. Trim both pieces to 5.25″ x 15.5″ (I first trimmed 0.25″ from the tops of the coloured triangles and then trimmed other edges to the right size):
Sew each piece with coloured triangles to either side of the solid rectangle and you’re done:
